Q&A with Rich Outfleet at Crater Lake Ford
Rich holds two titles—Sales Manager for Crater Lake Mazda, and Internet Sales Manager for Crater Lake Ford.
In addition to being nominated as Employee of the Month, Rich will also be celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary this month with his wonderful wife, Marla Outfleet. Keep reading to learn more about him!
Q: What was it like being presented with the Employee of the Month award?
RO: "I was totally surprised. I've had the honor to present the award several times, but have never received it!"
Q: What make Crater Lake Ford and Crater Lake Mazda different from other dealerships in the area?
RO: “We realize that when we are with a dealership guest, it’s not just a transaction. Our goal is to build a long term relationship with the customer and give them the best experience now and be there for their future vehicle needs.”
Q: What does a typical workday look like for you?
RO: “Every single day is unique. Typically, the first thing I do is open up the Mazda dealership and have a brief meeting with the sales staff. Then, I walk a couple hundred yards over to the Ford dealership to correspond with internet clients.”
“The day can go in any direction. It may be by spending most of my time at the Mazda store, or I’ll have appointments with dealership guests at the Ford store. The one sure thing is I get plenty of daily exercise walking back and forth between the two dealerships!”
Q: What kind of vehicle do you drive?
RO: “Well since I manage a Mazda dealership, I'm loyal to our brand and own a 2017 Mazda6. It’s the best vehicle in its class.”
Q: What do you do in your free time?
RO: “I love hiking and long walks. I typically will walk 3-5 miles two or three times per week. I also enjoy custom woodworking and finish carpentry.”
Q: What should first-time visitors know about Crater Lake Ford?
RO: “Our dealership guests really appreciate the low pressure atmosphere at Crater Lake Ford and Crater Lake Mazda. This can be a refreshing contrast to what they may experience elsewhere. When the customer is at ease, it’s a better experience overall and everybody wins.”
